This is in the wrong group.. Is a Linux question, not a HP-UX..

(although technically it could be either, but he says FC3, Fedora Core 3, Linux)..

A few lost threads in the Linux forum. A new user is hitting start new thread instead of reply.

Please delete and/or Integrate.

Cheryl, Dan, Melvyn,

in the VMS forum:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=875570

question about W98 on Intel, looks like hardware, maybe software.
So, should be eigther Microsoft, or Servers, but hardly VMS.

It was the VERY long URL posted by WIM

I have "adjusted" it by splitting up the URL

From 10:30 AM EDT (or so), the forums have been virtually inaccessible. It took 1100 seconds to reload the HP-UX home page!

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - May 2005

Been some DNS lookup issues with various hp sites involved with itrc. Searches, posts things like that.

I would see if those servers are working normally. Problem seems to be solved for now.

Hi Moderators,

It may be because of this title "OVOWã Agent Patches" witch as a "Â " in it!

Thanks,

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - May 2005

I vote for Pete's item 5. A real search engine!

A coworker submitted a question and I have used keywords in the subject and text and searched the category it is in but it never gets listed.

I searched for issues may and this thread was not even listed! It listed May issues for 2002 and 2003 and successes for 2003, 2004 and 2005 but NO issues for May 2005. Using may 2005 didn't work either.

All this information and I cannot find things easily.

I'm open to any search tips. I already use the "more options" path to do my searches.

When the (advanced) internal search does not return the desired result, I tend to just try google.

For example, you can quickly find this current topic with google looking for:
"+issues +2005 +site:itrc.hp.com"

The critical part in that search is the "+site:itrc.hp.com" restricting google to pages from the itrc site. The + characters request of course an AND functions.

hth,
Hein.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - May 2005

I'd like to see last reply TIME as well as date on the threads lists.

In other words on these kinds of pages:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/familyhome.do?familyId=117

Would also like to see "moved" questions NOT come up under questions with no responses.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - May 2005

"I second" for Kent's TIME option!

(btw, anybody ever make a positive remark on the consistent use of GMT time? I _HATE_ those fora (forums?) with time stams without indication about WHAT part of the world it references!)
