I can not post from OSX Mozilla. I get bounced to a non-existent URL.

I see others also suffer from this problem.

Any hope that this will get fixed?

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

I use Mozilla Firebird 0.8 on a windoze 2000 pc and its find for me.

A curious thing - this thread
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=541852
has moved from VMS to general forum.
Why?

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

For the Opera lovers (or IE haters), Opera has released 7.50 preview 4 for Linux, Solaris and FreeBSD

Be in for some shocks :)
Some shocks are easy to get rid of, others are easy to get used to, and some just make you love Opera ...

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

Hi Danno,

I would like to know why with Mozilla 1.6 I cannot right-click a link & get the option to open it in a new tab. I find tabbed displays a great time saver & would sure like to see them available here on the forum.

Thx,
Jeff

Getting the annoying "re-direction limit exceeded" again from Mozilla 1.5 and 1.7b. Not from Konqueror though. Spaces still don't work in Konq though :(

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

Dan,

I have been doing pretty well at leaving you alone and not trying to complain much about anything around here these days, but I just went through a lot of effort to translate an English post to Chinese for one of our 'forum family members' over seas and ended up with an absolute mess for my efforts:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=555810

It looked beautiful in my browser prior to my hitting the 'submit' button. What happened??

Input would be appreciated,
John

BTW, did you ever get that copy/paste issue with M$ Word fixed?

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

I am a bit flabergasted by your search tool...

i was trying to find a solution to a question for someone and cant seem to get any hits from the month of April... I KNOW I saw the post a few days ago, but cant find it with the search tool.

It was regarding using a pvkey to remove a bad disk.

I even searched intentionally for keywords in posts I replied to in the last few days. but I cant even get those to come up in the search reply.

What is goin on? And when might we expect a more robust search tool?

I love you guys and am very grateful for this forum, but it is very cumbersome and unfriendly to search the way that it is currently setup.

Again, just a bit of positive criticism. Help!

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

I double posted here:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=557109

The first post is inaccurate.

Please delete if you get to it before point assignment. Otherwise leave it as a monument to careless typing.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

Mime types when clicking on attachments still don't appear to be set correctly..

Still getting prompted to 'open' or 'save' etc. when clicking on any attachment to a message! As against it opening the appropraite external/internal helper automatically.

RJ - It's fixed. It looks more like the ITRC didn't like the link, rather than anything you did.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

Hi Dan,

Maybe it's just the threads that I am reading over the last while but it seems that increasingly question authors are not assigning any points to forumers who take the time to actually try to help everyone.

Some people may find my point a bit frivolous but I just feel it is unfair to those who do help others a lot and get nothing in return for it.

Is there anything that can be done about this, maybe block people from posting if they are repeat offenders.

Thanks,

Peter

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - April 2004!

Peter L,

My solution is to look at their profile...

If they have a bad point assignment... blackball them.. imho.

I know points are basically irrelevant, but they are a nicety just for status symbol.
