Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Do you feel better now antoniov?
More important, huh?
To me and EVERYBODY else here, you're just an immature punk!
Why don't you just go away - I for sure don't want you around.
Dan I suggest you pull his account & never let him register again from any IP in that subnet or any subnet he's ever accessed from.
We really don't need children here.
Grow up id10t!
Steamed,
Jeff

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Why don't you go take your time & go hack a stupid site like SCO.
OHHH, wait a minute - that mike take a brain, some talent & effort. Something you so obviously show you *don't* have.
get a life and leave here. I'm sure nobody wants you here. I could be wrong - but I seriously doubt it.
BYE!,
Jeff

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Something needs to be done ASAP about these three IDs:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/publicProfile.do?userId=CA1110608&forumId=1
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/publicProfile.do?userId=CA1110806&forumId=1
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/publicProfile.do?userId=CA1110612&forumId=1
Because of this post:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=537149
I suggest that IP investigation needs to be done to keep this rabble out of this excellent forum. We really don't need this bottom-feeding level of participation.
Jeff
P.S. And weekend moderation now appears to be absolutely necessary.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I know this forum was built in-house, but I would have to think you have the ability to track incoming messages by IP (as Jeff mentioned) with very little effort. If not, maybe now is the time to implement something like that. Personally, I think it's Patrick (just kidding).
**Success Story**
All that childishness aside, this forum is still the best resource I know of. I haven't had time to participate, but I sure have used the search engine to save my butt a few times. Thanks to all that make this place useful!
I've been away a while, so maybe my two cents are only worth one.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I seem to have read this is something to do with their being multiple, out of sync, databases? Like Europe vs US ?
Looks like the forum software needs to be improved to at the very least stop duplicate usernames (accross databases).
I, for one, hope this can be done with minimal intrusion. No complex signup if we can avoid that by just ignoring those jokers. Let's keep it nice for the main audience. It is modestly annoying to see the joker activity, but I for one would not have known if you guys had ignored. Yeah, it is extra annoying for say Antiniov who appears to be the target (for now, for whatever reason), but we can all tell a stupid reply from a helpfull one no?
fwiw,
Hein.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Sentiments like your's are worth gold.
Participation like antoniov's (and ALL his AKAs) aren't worth squat. We seem to have had a run of these lately & I'm begining to wonder if it's the same POS.
Jeff

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I know - I shouldn't rise to it's challenge. But then again this weasel *does* need to know that it cannot defile this world-class forum unchallenged.
If I offended you or any other forum member, I'm truly sorry & offer my apology, I just wanted it to know that....especially when it comes after me.
Best Rgds,
Jeff

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
These boofheads need to get a life. Right let's boost our numbers .... right ... who has the time anyway? It's okay to have to include the odd joke, but these people and their AKA's are just downright cheating .... not fair in my book. Where's that 1 wood .... it's around here somewhere.
Dan, just ban and delete these jabonies profiles (and of course their points) and not let them back in.
How about a beer JS?

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Now if you delete/lock the offending account, you'll just provoke and challenge them. If you do that delete, and try to put up barriers to try prevent this sillyness, then it becomes a much more interesting challenge to outsmart 'the system'. That will surely keep the person (or persons) going. Do not challenge, just grin for now. In 3 months when this has all grown old go and delete the junk.
imho,
Hein.

Perhaps they'll tire of the game if we ignore them. The forum is still a FABULOUS place to visit, thanks to the genuine folks who are here to actually help people.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I've leaved this forum on friday and now I find in it some stupid message with my name!
Please, when you see a post with my signature look for theese two elements:
1) My forum profile was registered on July, 8th 2003.
2) Now I append italian version of text.
Hein,
thanks a lot for your post.
Jeff,
sorry for insults: I never wrote thats words!
Ganesh,
don't be angry!
To all,
be patiente, HP is working to solve this problem.
@Antoniov
--------------------------------------------
Ciao a tutti,
Hein,
mille grazie per il tuo intervento.
Jeff,
scusa per gli insulti: non ho mai scritto quelle parole.
Genesh,
non arrabbiarti, hai la mia comprensione.
A tutti quanti,
abbiate pazienza, HP sta lavorando per risolvere questa situazione.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I think it's better no delete false antoniov but stop his login and clear his points. Same for Ganesh and other duplicate names.
Thanks,
@Antoniov

Ciao Dan,
sono convinto che sia meglio non eliminare il falso antoniov ma semplicemente bloccargli l'accesso e cancellare i suoi punti.
Grazie,
@Antoniov

Did someone edit my response in this thread, I'm missing a part of my answer. And if yes, why ?

Yes, my friend, I know that wasn't you.
To the FALSE antoniov,
Goodbye & don't let the door hit you in your @ss on the way out. Good riddance. Don't come back unless you're willing to abide by the rules - period. This isn't your playground child.

It seems to have always been this way in the 3 years I have been using the forums, and it makes finding answers far harder than it need be.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
I almost posted this last week, but refrained. However, seeing the ridiculous abuse that has occurred, I would suggest that new uids shouldn't be allowed to be created with 'free' email accounts (yahoo.com, hotmail.com, email.com, etc.) Also, email addresses that abuse the system should be banned and not allowed to create a new account (You probably do this already, though).
What does everyone think of this idea?

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
You make a good point, but I'm afraid that not allowing "free" email accounts would exclude plenty of people who would otherwise like to participate. I used my free Hotmail account to sign up here, and I use it for many other things as well, even though I also have a paid POP account. What would I have done if all I had was a free account, and we didn't allow them? I will be changing my ISP and therefore my POP address. What then? My Hotmail address never changes. It's a convenience thing.
I really like to participate here in the forum, and I'd sure rather put up with a couple of goofballs than to exclude a bunch of otherwise earnest people.
My two cents.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Issues - March 2004!
Sincerely, this is one of the only times I don't mind having posts of mine "moderated". But seeing that you've done that I think it's now encumbent that you also moderate the...hmmm...let's say "offender's" post to them as well. Just doesn't fit now - wouldn't you say?
And I do appreciate your folks attention to this matter & as I did ealier, I apologize to all, the little bugger just really got my goat.
Excuse me, I simply care about this place.
Cheers,
Jeff (Who will friendly remind you once again that it is indeed April)
