Please Post Your Forums Successes - December 2005
Please submit your highlights and successes you have had while participating in the ITRC Forums community. Your feedback helps convey the positive influences the forums have had on your IT life. For example, have you:
1. Posted a question and received a key answer that solved your problem?
2. Have you viewed a message thread that had a solution to a problem you were trying to solve?
3. Found the Forums to be of particular help in sharing information, exchanging best practices, or saving you time?
I'd really like to hear from everyone -- your circumstances, the issues, the outcome, who was of help, time saved, etc.! If you have examples to share, please provide the URL of the thread if possible.
You can also post your forums **issues** for December at:

Thanks in advance for your input!
Best Regards,
Cheryl and Dan

Re: Please Post Your Forums Successes - December 2005
I am an HP employee and I poll ITRC users once in a while for information on how they really use the system and issues they may encounter, so that I can investigate better ways to do things.
This month I posted this one about the difficulty to locate a device from its hw path information:

I always get useful answers from the ITRC forum gurus. It is a quick and efficient way for me to validate some areas of changes that can improve customer experience. So it is of great value to me.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Successes - December 2005
Sameer pointed out some key places to look that eventually got me to a solution of the problem. He got me focused in the right direction.

Re: Please Post Your Forums Successes - December 2005
I wanted some confirmation before I did something and in this case if was very good that I did post it, since I would have not realized that fbackup doesn't have the / before the files in its tar format. Maybe you have to see the post.
