Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Hi Dan,

Timing issues.

I literally messed up the following thread thinking that my response didn't get added.

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xc3539c196a4bd71190080090279cd0f9,00.html

After posting twice, I realized that they were appearing well before the member's question.

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Hi All,

Thought I'd mention this as I did to Ron Kinner in the February thread:

If you are having trouble assigning points, try clearing your temporary Internet files and cookies from your machine. Please note that if you delete the cookies on your machine, you will need to make a note of the User IDs and passwords to sites you visit often, including these forums. There is a specific cookie related to forums called 'cm'....if you can find it, that may be all you need to delete. We've found that this allows assigning points on the first try, and users have reported this being the case.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

I just tried assigning points where it had failed three times in a row and it worked this time. I did not clear any cookie files or anything.

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Is anyone able to post to the Forums with Opera 7.02?

I can surf and browse fine, but when I respond to a question and click on submit, I get a "404 not found" error.

Opera 6 seems to work, but Opera 7 doesn't. Anyone have any ideas?

Patrick,

Procura is your best bet....I think he is using/testing every browser version known. You can wait for him to reply, or I can pass him your email....

Dan,

read this thread please.

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x1f559c196a4bd71190080090279cd0f9,00.html

Why does my reply which was obviously a response an encouragement to A Clay's prior message show up before his?

Let me assure you A. Clay posted first.

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

A new month and time for my monthly complaint about the slowness of the new networking forum. It is slow even when the rest of the forums respond in less than 3 seconds it takes 10. You said you had verified this to be a problem on your end too so how come they can't fix it? Tell them to post their question on the forum and we will tell them how to fix it. What is the problem? Is the networking forum hosted on the other end of a 56K dial up modem or perhaps on an old 386 running Windows 95?

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Dan,

I was just headed here to report the double points post. (I see you have a work around...) I actually posted points on the 2nd to last post here: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x7f4035a43b46d71190080090279cd0f9,00.html and replied, then went to post the last posts' points, and the 2nd to last lost the points that were previously there. I am not sure that it is the same thing or just similar. I will clear my cache and cookies, but will have to wait for another post to test.

Is this a temporary workaround or a 'fix'? (You could just tell them that it's a feature, not a bug, but I don't think they'd go for it...)

Hope it helps

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

hi dan,
1. i use galeon / redhat. at times i have seen the first page, the initial text and the Notice doesnt get word wrapped. It appears as two lines. i hope you get what i mean. this is not appearing for some time now.

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/Home/1,,1,00.html

2. mostly when i try to submit a reply, it is either a 404 or there is no response. and when i press submit frantically a couple of times, it gets done. and then i see that i the reply appears a few time.

3. the site in general is a bit slow.

hope my comments help.

Dan,

Pete posted a message in the thread I pointed to above. I deleted my cookies, and tried to assign points. It seems to have worked as expected. Thanks

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Patrick, I'm very busy, as you've probably noticed by my low amount of answers.

Opera 7 can be used to post answers and/or new messages:

?? fill in the reply
?? hit submit
you now get a 404
?? Hit 'Z' (or backspace, or the back button)
?? Hit submit again

This bug has been registered and verified with the Opera team.

At the moment it is not possible to asign points with Opera 7. Not even after 15 retries :)

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Hi Dan,
This is a rehash of a long standing question.

I still have to submit points to a question twice before it takes.

Is there any updates on this?

Thanks,
Kel

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Many thanks Merijn. This post is done with Opera 7, so if you see it, then it works. Assigning points isn't that big of a deal since I don't have that many open issues here.

Thanks again.

Dan -

Heads up. Response from ITRC is EXTREMELY slow this morning.
If you are reading this I suppose you may already be aware.

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Sorry 'bout that Dan.
I did a search for an update, but didn't find what I was looking for.
I'm not thinking too good these days, I threw my back out a few weeks ago and am just not quite up to par yet.
Good news is my doctor just presribed Flexeril for me. Never used it, but everyone is telling me it's just the thing.

Hi Kelli,

I hope you feel better soon. Maybe after you take some of your pills you will be able to rattle off a 'stream of consciousness' post like this one from 'connie':

Hmmm.....Haven't gotten one of these in a while.

Error processing SSI file '/cm/FamilyHomeContent/1,11868,LoggedIn!117,00.html'

Got this when trying to go back to the HP-UX Family home page from a thread.

Hi Danno,

Here's an interesting one:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xc25d9c196a4bd71190080090279cd0f9,00.html

Note the appearance of the links at the end of Patrick's post.
I see them as "normal" html links - not as http://...... type links.
How'd you post those Patrick?

Later,
Jeff

Re: Please Post Your ITRC Forums Issues for March 2003!

Hey Jeff (and Dan),

I didn't do anything special, I just copied and pasted the link from the browser into the reply box.

When I post links I usually do try to make sure that they are the full link and that they are on their own line.
