Hello Dan,
the "search" is getting funnier (lack of an
appropriate technical term for it, as I am not
a native speaker - think of something which is
getting on you nerves) every day:
After replying to some questions (and it did
work) I tried the search, again, and guess what?
It (well, the forums server) tried to log me
in, could NOT do it, and posted an error about
that. The navigation bar on the left (is that
its name?) still showed "Welcome, Wodisch",
and when I tried to "logout" then, I got to the
"search" dialog.
Why does the search try to re-login me, or why
does it even check (as I thought reading the
forums would be essentially free and anonymous)
about it?
Oh, since then I have NOT logged in again, so
for being able to post this reply (still using
the same IE5/W2K session) my login seems to be
valid...
You have got me on that - I do NOT understand
it, really.
AND it does still only show up to 50 results.
And the "YAER" of the day (mine, at least) is
Can we have a "FAQ" area on the right hand side
right were the "all members" and "points" stuff
is, please? Organised like the other areas, so
we can post to it? Then we would be able to
fill in all those questions asked most often...
If the users/readers of those "FAW" postings
could actually click on some buttons like
"solved my problem", "helpful", "useless"
and your web-designers could sort these pages
according to those "reader-points", then those
"FAQ" pages would represent the most urgent
problems automatically... (and you would not
have to fix the "search" ;-) since we could
use the "FAQ" instead.
Thinking about it, why not some buttons for
EVERY question page, to promote it to the FAQ?
Tired,
Wodisch
