Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
It is possible....I talked to support, and they suggested you drop them a line at itrc_support@hp.com.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
I have no problems accessing the patch database to download patches now. Tested downloading this patch successfully:
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_25841
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Oh okay. :P
I don't know about your Europe side, but I was able to access the America/Asia-Pacific site:
http://us-support.external.hp.com/swd/bin/doc.pl/sid=99757e871893390be8/screen=SWReleases/newShList=0,1
followed by:
http://us-support.external.hp.com/swd/bin/doc.pl/sid=19e2360e00891378cf/screen=SWProducts/release=108,81,14/desc=-215
I don't have a handle for HP-UX 11i, but the latest HP-UX 11.00 patch bundle indicated down there is still dated March 2002.
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
This morning I received a mail to indicate that there was a reply on one of my questions. I followed the link in the mail and then wanted to reply :
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x1f198f960573d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/PostAnswer/1,,0x1f198f960573d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
This gave me a 404 every time.
However, if I first went to my profile, selected the storage forums, selected my message and then tried to reply, it worked (that is, I ended up in the logonscreen, where I expected to end up).
Thought I'd mention it ...
Regards,
Tom Geudens
P.S. Couldn't you have done the contest 6 months earlier ? I'd have had a chance then :-)

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
getting a lot of Service Unavailable, unknown errors this morning.
First time I see them.
They happen when I tried to reply to a few posts. (including this one a few moments ago.)

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
I'm (apparently) unable to post a reply to this thread:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x026250011d20d6118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
I click the submit button and get the "connect: host forums.itrc.hp.com contacted, waiting for reply" message on the bottom of my screen. It's been 5 minutes now.
We'll see what happens when I try to submit this . . .

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Disregard that last bit of whining, please. I think it was because I didn't have permissions to copy the file I was attempting to attach.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Just thot of this idea. Actually, i had posted a question http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x0d78107d277ad611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
and i wanted to attach more than 1 log file which i wasnt able to do that.
So how about enhancing in such a way that we can include more than one file ..
Just thot of suggesting :)
Best Regards
Jamni

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Because I can sometimes 'solve' problems by logging out and in, I pressed "logout". Instead of directly logging me out, that first brought me to a screen about my profile which asked me if it was OK for HP to inform me by e-mail/surface_mail/phone. After I answered those questions, I did *not* continue the logout, but went back to the "reply to message" screen. Now it worked, and has worked ever since.
If I remember correctly, I had a similar problem some time ago, so it *seems* that if HP would like the user to update hir profile (but does *not* tell hir to), that causes these kinds of problems.
I hope this helps.

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
I believe there was a "scheduled downtime" for the (European ?) logonserver yesterday afternoon (European time) ? The forum itself was fine, but I could logon (and thus not post/reply). I first got "This service is not available, try again later" messages ... and later :-) I just got "UNKNOWN".
If it was a "scheduled downtime" (everyone has to have those), would it be possible to have those "announced" ? Just a reply in this post or a different post "Scheduled Downtimes" would be great.
Regards,
Tom

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
This is from Mr. Reclamation himself.
;-)
The performance has become a lot better after the upgrade ( as far as i noticed ).
Faster replies, much less HTTP 404 and 500.
Messaging when server connect is not possible.
Keep it going that way.
NO COMPLAINTS THIS TIME !!!!
Have a nice day and best regards

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Is it possible to have a top5-list of 'submitted issues' in one's own profile..?

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
Would it be possible to condense the headings at the top of the Forums pages? Over half the page is taken up by the headings, banners, logos, etc. and the actual list of postings is squeezed down to the bottom. And (with Netscape 4.79, anyway), when I refresh, if I'm not at the top of the page, it refreshes in the middle and I have to scroll back up.
It's terrible the things we have to put up with to utilize this marvelous resource, isn't it?
;^)

I LOVE the new format, especially the QUICK links back to the main topic areas!
Can they "expand" the reply window?
Thank the team for me!

Re: Please Report Forums Issues - June 2002!
I like what the upgrade has done. I love the extended response and 8-10 point response lists.
I also like the list of questions the author has posted. I am seeing a problem on my question list though. Have a look at this page: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/TopSolutions/1,,CA18242!1!questions,00.html
There are some of the questions listed with the URL (like /cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xed74fd3f91d3d5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html )rather than the subject of the question. Apparently a small bug somewhere.
Also, are you not putting the number of responses with points assigned / not assigned to each question? Just curious.
