Plotter Config. on 10.20 using Jetadmin
Hi,
We have a HP DesignJet 800 (C7780B) plotter. We wanted to configure it on our 10.20 host using Jetadmin. Whether any driver needs to be added for this model of plotter?, as after configuring the plotter in normal way (using Jetadmin), we are not able to plot anything. The network is reachable.
Please help me on this regard.
Thanks and Regards,
N.Harinath.

Re: Plotter Config. on 10.20 using Jetadmin
Hi Harinath,
Put the following four lines into a file called plot_data:
IN;SP1;PA2000,1500;PR;
PD-2000,0,2000,2000,0,-2000;
PU500,0;
PD2000,0,-2000,0,-2000;SP0;
Then after verifying the plotter to be on-line, type:
cat -u plot_data > /dev/plotter
This should result in the drawing of a triangle and a line.
If not, you are not communicating with the plotter, and need to
re-examine your installation for plotter-specific problems.
Best of luck

Did you take a backup?

Re: Plotter Config. on 10.20 using Jetadmin
Hi
Just by configuring that plotter through jetadmin you will not be able to plot cgm and other kind of files.
I think you need somekind of rasterazion software. We uses SID's mft which plots plot through IKON card.
Now they have new product printmaster on NT, SUN and HP with does all rastering and sends that data to network plotter.
