Post 11i upgrade Data Protector backups slow.

HI All,

We have upgraded 2 hosts from UX11.0 to 11i. Backups going directly to LTO II in the SAN used to transfer at about 35MB/S they now transfer at 5MB/S. The systems access different disk arrays. A DD to /dev/null transfers data even slower (3-4MB/S). A tar runs at normal speed.

We have newly built 11i systems experiencing no problems.

Has anyone experienced these problems with 11i upgrades and disk access? If so how did they solve it. Any bright ideas of what I could test to shed light on the problem?

1) Are these two hosts, clients of a cell manager? Or is one of them the cell manager itself. See (2)
2) What platform is the cell manager?
3) Have these clients had the OS patched after the upgrade?
4) Did you re-install the clients software again?
5) If these are clients, you may wish to make sure that you have the latest patches for OB installed.

YES. Tried upgrading. Then deletion & addition of client.

Did you re-create the .libtab files on each hosts that were upgraded to 11.i? I suspect your backing up over the network and not the SAN.
