presenting clariion disks to mcsg nodes

Hi Everyone

I'm getting myself confused as to how to configure our disks.
This will be a 2 node cluser.
Node A is in Building A with Clariion cabinetA.
Node B is in Building B with Clariion cabinetB.

So far Clariion_A has disks presented to Node A.

# powermt display dev=all
CLARiiON ID=CK200042500043 [BFSSGM01]
Logical device ID=60060160335B1100F49073E0EB02DC11 [LUN 200]
state=alive; policy=CLAROpt; priority=0; queued-IOs=0
Owner: default=SP A, current=SP A
==============================================================================
---------------- Host --------------- - Stor - -- I/O Path - -- Stats ---
### HW Path I/O Paths Interf. Mode State Q-IOs Errors
==============================================================================
10 0/4/2/0.2.3.0.0.0.0 c10t0d0 SP B0 active alive 0 0
11 0/4/2/0.2.4.0.0.0.0 c11t0d0 SP A1 active alive 0 0
8 0/5/1/0.4.3.0.0.0.0 c8t0d0 SP A0 active alive 0 0
9 0/5/1/0.4.4.0.0.0.0 c9t0d0 SP B1 active alive 0 0

I'm happy enough with what to do after they are available (eg setting the alterantive paths to VG), but
I'm confused as to what to do now regarding mirroring / failover.
I need to assume for DR purposed that the solution has to allow for us to loose building A altogther.

Do I present new disks from Clariion_B to nodeB and then user Mirrordisk?

Or do I need to present -
ClariionA luns to NodeA
ClariionA luns to NodeB
ClariionB luns to NodeA
ClariionB luns to NodeB
and then create VGs with alternative paths between ClariionA and ClariionB?

I really hope this makes sense!

Thanks

Re: presenting clariion disks to mcsg nodes

the buildings are only a couple of hundred metres apart.

we would like to rule out loosing an entire clariion cabinet

thanks

Re: presenting clariion disks to mcsg nodes

The nodes need to see each other's disks. So yes you need to present the disks as follows:

ClariionA luns to NodeA
ClariionA luns to NodeB
ClariionB luns to NodeA
ClariionB luns to NodeB

You need to have redundancy everywhere in order for the whole design to be fault tolerant.

Re: presenting clariion disks to mcsg nodes

would I then use MirrorDisk to mirror the luns available on node A to node B's luns?

Thanks

Yes you would need to do that for the design scenario you are facing i.e. "loose building A altogther". All data and binaries housed within one cabinet should be mirrored onto another. In a nutshell Cabinet B should be a mirror of Cabinet B or vice-versa.
