Print Chinese w/ Win98, Word2000, LJ 4

We're at a standstill. We have a 4-page document in traditional Chinese perfectly on screen (running Word 2000 and Win 98), but our HP LJ4 prints garbage. It has 12meg of memory. Can anyone point us in the right direction? Thanks so much.
