Print jobs repeat
We are running HPUX 11. We have a handful of jetdirect boxes hooked to dot-matrix printers, and some HP laserjets with jetdirect cards in them.
These queues have been setup via the hppnl (jetadmin replacement).
The problem is that on a random basis, random printers seem to get stuck in a loop and print multiple copies of jobs.
On the LaserJets, we have turned off True End of Job, which seems to have mostly cleared this up. However, for the line printers using the dumbplot printer model, this is not an option. We have set the timeout's on the jetdirects to 300, but we do not seem to be having any network trouble or connectivity issues.
Any ideas as where to look?

Re: Print jobs repeat
Make sure the unix queue for the printer is OK and that you definitely have communication with the printer that is not timing out.
We use serial printers on DTCs here and had the same problem until a telnet parameter was changed so that communications could continue between the HP server and the DTC, without timing out.
For us I had to edit the file /etc/ddfa/pcf and change the parameter "telnet_timer" from 120 to 1800.
That may not apply to you.
