print_manifest

I am running print_manifest and dumping the info to a file that gets backed up to tape and sent off-site for recovery help. Or just to help with system id or information. Does anyone us this? and if so, do you just run the print_manifest default or do you add some special flags for additional information?

Re: print_manifest

Hi Robert:

With current Ignite 'make_tape_recovery' versions a 'print_manifest" is gratuitously created whenever a recovery tape is created. It can be found as:

# /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest/manifest

Regards!

Re: print_manifest

I have used print_manifest just to keep system information handy.

The only thing I do if I am going to print it out is add the '-e' flag to make it look prettier when it is printed.

Other than that I run it as is.

Re: print_manifest

Acutally ignite run prints_manifest and stores it under /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest/manifest , The only use is to keep the cureent system inforamtion. No other use .
