print spooler problem

hp-ux 10.20 on k360. having problems with print spooler. items sent to printer sit in queue (lpstat -o shows items waiting to be printed) but printer shows idle status (lpstat -pprinter). tried stop/start /sbin/init.d/lp several times to no avail. lpsched appears to be stuck when i do /sbin/init.d/lp stop and i have to kill it manually to actually have it stop.
weird thing. even when i kill lpsched and lpshut etc., if i do an lpstat -r it still says that the scheduler is still running. help! tia.

Re: print spooler problem

One thing I do is "disable printername" then power cycle the printer then "enable Printername". If that doesn't help the jam, do a "netstat -rn" See if the printer address shows up and do a route delete.
