Printer Driver change after printer installation
Now i am trying to install the same printer , with a different model being selected. But the hppi program automatically recogonizes the printer model and directing me to the last step of print queue name definition.
How to go about this ?? Please help..

you may also copy the interface(/etc/lp/interface/hllj5siqname) and model (/etc/lp/interface/model.org/hllj5siqname )file from an existing queue made of HP LJ5si to the new queue which u need edited( rember to update the right IP adddress in the interface file.

You need to get the correct printer script.

Not a good idea at all. The 5Si has been obsolete for a decade and there is no reason to assume that there is any compatibility other than ASCII. Download the correct printer script from here:
http://www.hp.com/pond/modelscripts/index2.html
Now addqueue (and hppi) will recognize the new printer. NOTE: HP has made hundreds of different printer models and many are completely incompatible with HP-UX. Do not pick a new printer for HP-UX until you find the printer script in the above website. HP almost never states compatibility with HP-UX for any printers, only Windows and sometimes Macs.
