printer footer page

Hello,

when printing on a specific printer, it prints after the data page always another page with the information

User: root
Host: luxtc1
Class:
Job: -jobnr

Any idea how to avoid this ?
I looked at the files under /etc/lp but did not find something.

Thanks,
Matthias

Re: printer footer page

Hi,

Can you check if the banner is enabled.

cd /var/spool/lp/interface
vi
BSDh="-h"

This is the setting for disabling the banner.

also try printing with the -onb option and see if you are seeing the banner/footer.

Re: printer footer page

Alternatively, you may edit the /var/spool/lp/interface/ file and look for "banner" and comment those lines. (Be sure to backup the original file, just in case...).

Re: printer footer page

This is called a "separator page" and is NOT produced by HP-UX. It is being created by the LAN card in your printer. Telnet to the printer's IP address and turn off the banner option in the card. On newer JetDirect LAN cards, you can run a browser using the IP address of the JetDirect card.
