Printer testing

Hi people, okay so this is the scenerio. We r migrating from one server to another. Now, i built the printers on the new on, some were remote and some were local. Now, before the migration takes place i want to test if the new ones work. But, because every thing is still hooked up to the old ones i cant take a physical print out.
In this case what should i do to test that the printers built in the new are ok to go live. Right now when i do lpstat on them they say idle and waiting. I dont see a problem but how can i test???

Re: Printer testing

If "local" means hardwire connected (serial or parallel port) then there is not much you can do; if "local" actually means "Network" in HP-UX speak then you do them exactly as you would test the Remote printers:

e.g.
ls -l | lp -dprintername

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
