Hello Dear HP User Forum Members.
To make our printing-services high-avaible we've just created a package. Therefore we need the names of all configfiles which have to be shared between the nodes.
Is it enough when we share the /var/sam/lp directory to have similiar configurations on both nodes?
Million multithanx for your response...
psst. we've token already look for help (did a search) but we cant find anything about it.
so we are stupid or there is nothing ! :-)

Solution
I don't think that will work. Some stuff gets placed in /etc/lp with a link from the old default "/var/spool/lp" directory. As this /etc/lp is part of the / (root) filesystem it may prove difficult to achieve. Also what would happen if you wanted to print a log file on the node which didn't have the print package. The way I would recommend may seem a bit af a long way round but I would create the print queues on both systems then just use a Serviceguard package to provide the floating IP address. This way both systems would still beable to print locally at all times.

Re: Printers in MC - ServiceGuard Env.
thanx for your reply! we expected that. but we were not shure. we will now make a script for syncing the lp-config-dirs on both nodes and use the package only for the IP-Traffic.
Many thanx again!
