Printing Chinese Fonts

Hi,

Our client wanted to print Chinese fonts from our HP box running 11.0. The printer is a remote one and can be accessed through Jetadmin.
So we are going to install Jetadmin and also the Chinese fonts.

Can anyone tell the procedure(in detail) to carry out the above requirement.

Thanks in Advance,
N.Harinath.

Re: Printing Chinese Fonts

Hi Hari,
You need to install/copy following files:
/usr/lib/nls/loc/locales.1/zh_CN.hp15CN
/usr/lib/nls/loc/locales.2/zh_CN.hp15CN
/usr/lib/nls/loc/pa20_64/locales.2/zh_CN.hp15CN
What application your client is using ?If it is SAP then I can give somemore inputs.

Best of luck
Animesh
Did you take a backup?

Re: Printing Chinese Fonts

Hi,

1. Just installed Jetadmin. But when we tried to configure the printer,
it gives coredump with /opt/hpnp/admin/getname and getgoodpname.
So we are not able to configure the printer now.

2. Not able to install the Chinese fonts. We tried out for it in the Core-OS media, but was not able to locate it. How to install the Chinese fonts or its Runtime environment?. If installed, what will be the path of it?.

Can anyone help on this regard?

Thanks and Regards,
N.Harinath.

Re: Printing Chinese Fonts

You will need to purshase & install the full Chinese locale in order to have all the required components to print Chinese characters.

ITRC Document KBRC00000147 has the necessary details.

Once installed, printing requires the selection of a particular model script and either command-line options, LANG variable changes, or editing of the script to support that language by-default.
