Problem in mounting VXFS

Hello all,

I have recently installed VERITAS Volume Manager 3.5 on our solaris 8 ( v480) server.That time I have installed license and created rootdg. Now I have included other 2 disks and created volumes.But while trying to mount the filesystem I am receiving this error

serverA 34 ] mount /dev/vx/dsk/backupdg/datavol /skiran_tmp
mount: You don't have a license to run this program
serverA 35 ] mount -F vxfs /dev/vx/dsk/backupdg/datavol /skiran_tmp
mount: You don't have a license to run this program

We have installed all required patches.

is there patch missing OR reboot required?

Thanks,
Shashikiran

Re: Problem in mounting VXFS

Hi Shashi,

Do "/sbin/vxlicesne -p" to check on the status of the license. Check and see if they have expired or not.

Hope this helps.

Re: Problem in mounting VXFS

Hi Sanjay,

There is no problem with licence.
root (/) is already VXFS. It is a permanent lic.

serverA 65 ] vxlicrep -g

License Key =
Product Name = VERITAS Volume Manager
Serial Number = 456041
License Type = PERMANENT_NODE_LOCK
OEM ID = 600
Node Lock Type = (Hostid and Architecture ID)

Features :=

VxVM = Enabled
CPU Count = Not Restricted

I cannot reboot the server , this is a production server.

serverA:/etc 66 ]

Thanks

Re: Problem in mounting VXFS

Hi,

If licensing is not an issue, then reboot is the next choice. Can't think of anything else.

Hope this helps.
