Greetings,
I am trying to set-up modem for dial-out on a K260 server using the UPS port.
# ioscan -fnkCtty
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
============================================================
tty 0 10/4/0 mux2 CLAIMED INTERFACE MUX
/dev/diag/mux0 /dev/diag/tty0p7 /dev/tty0p1
/dev/diag/tty0p0 /dev/mux0 /dev/tty0p7
/dev/diag/tty0p1 /dev/tty0p0
As far as I understand, the UPS 9 pin serial port device file is /dev/tty0p1
I have entered the following entry to /etc/uucp/Devices:
Direct tty0p1 - 9600 direct
When I enter "at" I do not get OK:
# cu -l tty0p1
Connected
at
I have tried the same procedure on a D230 server using the serial 2 port and
it worked... May be the HW connections are different on the K260?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Kind Regards,
Rui.

Solution
Hi,
This has been discussed before , ( select search and modems in the forums) , from what i remember, the UPs has different pinouts from a normal serial port , so you cannot use the standard modem cable .

Thanks for your contribution Devbinder Singh Marway.
I made a search but I did not find a similar discussion...
Does anyone know the required pinout configuration so
I can make a cable...
Thanks,
Rui.
