Problem installing HPUX 11i

Hi,

I am trying to install HPUX 11i on a C240.
Since I don't have a HP monitor, I have to
do the install through a serial connection.

The install proceeds correctly until after
the step where I have to select a keyboard.
Since I am using a serial connection, the
keyboard needs to be unplugged.

After I press enter to accept the keyboard
language (62), it goes to the next menu and
immediately flies through to system recovery
shell menu.

Once there, I cannot go back to the install
menu, to start the actual install.

It looks as if I press enter twice, but I
don't (tried it a few times).

Does anyone have an idea what's happening here?

Thanks,

Frank

Instead of Enter, try tabbing to the next section.

The Install/Ignite window is set u like a text based GUI. Hitting enter has screwed me up enough that I only do it when forced. I keep tabbing until I get where I want.

Re: Problem installing HPUX 11i

Thanks for the reply, but I found out what it was. Hyperterm (a microsoft-backed product) was inserting the extra newline. I tried using TeraTerm and it worked!

The funny thing was that I had been using 10.20 through the serial connection and with Hyperterm for a few days, and I never noticed any funny stuff.

To respond to Steven's answer: I hadn't even gone into the menu. The enter i hit was the one from the previous section, and it somehow decided it was time to send TWO enters.

Anyway, problem solved, thanks for your time.
