Problem on hpux 11 with sybase 12.0
Hello,
Excuse my english.
Recently, someone (sybase expert), notice about the fact that async i/o can't be enable on hpux for standard file system. Only raw device can use async i/o.
Env : HPUX 11 (Stratus server)
Sybase 12.0.1
Concerning system parameter :
fs_async=0
sybase device were initialize with the desync option.
We can observe small io but very large contention on disk.
help me?

Re: Problem on hpux 11 with sybase 12.0
I think ( not sure) this version of Sybase async i/o for filesystem. It supports only for raw device. Sybase 12.5 does support async i/o for both filesystem as well as raw devices.

Sorry for the typo....
I think ( not sure) this version of Sybase does not support async i/o for
filesystem. It supports only for raw device. Sybase 12.5 does support async i/o for both filesystem as well as raw devices.
