Problem starting NFS with NIS running
Hi,
I'm having some problem starting my NFS and automount after setting up my NIS.
I've tried to stop the NIS and the NFS mount work immediately after stopping the NIS. However, I didn't try automount.
Is there something I've missed out or is it suppose to have some patches on this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
Han Ming

Re: Problem starting NFS with NIS running
Try putting "automount: files" in your /etc/nsswitch.conf
In a world without fences - who needs Gates ?

Re: Problem starting NFS with NIS running
Please Try automount after NIS stopped.
If it succeed, let me know details of "ploblem"(any error message or hunging
when change directory).

Re: Problem starting NFS with NIS running
Hi,
Thanks for all the help.
I managed to get the problem solve by applying patches PHNE_21375 for 10.20 and PHNE_21376 for 11.00.
Right now, I can use NIS, NFS and automount at the same time.
Previously, NIS must be stop first in order for NFS and automount to start.
Thanks again.
