problem to execute ethereal

I have a problem when execute ethereal, the message is :

can't find PPA for /dev/lan0

What happend when appear this message?

Try this out

Remove /dev/lan0 , Then create a link
ln -s /dev/dlpi0 /dev/lan0

What version of libpcap do you have installed? I know that version 0.5.2 or less has problems with the HP implementation of DLPI. I haven't tried it yet myself, but you can get v0.6.2 of libpcap from the www.tcpdump.org site.

Among the changes are: "Fixed HP-UX libpcap implementation to correctly get the PPA for
an interface, to allow interfaces to be opened by interface name."
