Re: problem whit new system
Yes, I meant disconnecting physically but, it can also be done with configuration in the FC switch. But, is you are sure that you installed on local disk, it is perhaps not necessary. The reason for my questions was that I have seen problems when trying to boot from SAN volume when Secure Path 3E was installed. Without Secure Path installed, booting from SAN is not any problem.

Re: problem whit new system
I have similar problem. It was SCSI cable problem. You have to disconect any external storage and try to boot only with system disks, maybe in single user mode. If it works then it is probably FC connection problem. If it does not works than you have problem with the internal SCSI, for the local disks. But anyway you have to isolate the problem.

Re: problem whit new system
You have to interrupt the boot process, pressing anykey when it is shown on the scereen while booting. Then enter in information menu typing in, and WA in information menu.

Information Menu: Enter command > wa
do logging... I am reinstalling one of the tho servers via the instalation cd, but because it is not clear if this wil resolve the problem I will ask a colega of me to try to isolate the problem on the other node.

Re: problem whit new system
What model of server did you create the IUX tape on? And which spec of CPU?
Which version of HPUX are trying to install? what hardware enablement bundle is on the IUX tape?
I would be suprised if you had 2 faulty systems, sounds like a HUPX version or missing driver problem to me.

Re: problem whit new system
disk(0/1/1/0.1.0.0.0.0.0;0)
*is* the default internal disk for an rp4440,
so the install did properly go to the internal disk. (Ignite install changes the default boot path to that of the disk to which the system was installed.)
I would try to do a minimal install from CD to this system to see whether it works. You don't need to include any extra software (such as Online Diags or the QPK patches). Just get something small installed on it.

Re: problem whit new system
Boot into maintanence mode:
boot -lm
ONce there activate the root vg:
vgchange -a y /dev/vg00
lvlnboot -r /dev/vg00/lvol3
lvlnboot -s /dev/vg00/lvol2
lvlnboot -d /dev/vg00/lvol2
lvlnboot -b /dev/vg00/lvol1
lvlnboot -R /dev/vg00
lvlnboot -v
make sure that it looks like this:
Boot: lvol1 on: /dev/dsk/c2t0d0
Root: lvol3 on: /dev/dsk/c2t0d0
Swap: lvol2 on: /dev/dsk/c2t0d0
Dump: lvol2 on: /dev/dsk/c2t0d0, 0
The /dev/dsk/c2t0d0 may differe but the first part of each line should look like that. The line order doesn't matter.
After this completes, type: reboot and you should come up fine.
