Problem with EISA-MUX J2485-60010 in UX 11.0
Hi,
I need urgent help.....
UX install 11.0 (64bits) in my servant R380, but it doesn't recognize the card EISA-MUX J2485-60010.
Install all the drivers mux* and even when running "ioscan - f" it doesn't get it.
Which the problem can be?
Do contact to support of HP Venezuela and did they indicate me that this technology EISA is no longer supported in this operating system version UX 11.0, is this correct?
Thank you for their help
Orlando

Re: Problem with EISA-MUX J2485-60010 in UX 11.0
You have a choice; you can run 64-bit 11.x or you can run EISA cards (any EISA cards not just MUX cards) but not both. No EISA cards will function under 64-bit 11.0 or 11.11. There is really little reason to run 64-bit 11.x on your R box because the maximum memory is 3GB --- well under the 4GB maximum 32-bit address space. The exception would be if you need to run an application for which only 64-bit versions exist.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Hello Clay,
For what I understand if I install UX 11.0 (32bits) should it recognize the card MUX?
Thank you,
Orlando

Yes you can install the 32-bit version of HP-UX 11.0, or 11.11, on your R380 and you will then be able to use your EISA card.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO support for EISA cards in the 64-bit HP-UX world.
