problem with PHSS_21817 in HP-UX 11i Quality Pack

While attempting to install the December 2001 release of the HP-UX11i Quality Pack on our A400 server, I received the following error message in the swinstall session log:

*Installing fileset "PHSS_21817.AGRM,r=1.0" (133 of 169).
ERROR: The file "/usr/share/man/man1m.Z/grmd.1m" was not loaded because it is missing from the source media.
ERROR: Failed installing fileset "PHSS_21817.AGRM,r=1.0". Check the above output for details.
...
...
NOTE: The Install Phase has been suspended. Check the above output for reasons.

I have verified that the depot file was downloaded correctly but the file "grmd.1m" is indeed missing from its contents.

Does anyone have ideas for a quick fix here?

Try downloading it from the web and installing it by itself, maybe the media is bad?:

Hi Tom:

I'd download the patch from the ITRC Patch Database and reinstall it.

I'd also go ahead and place a call with the Response Center so that they can look at it and if there is a problem with that particular patch set, then they have a record of it and can fix it.

If you do download the single patch from the ITRC, look at it closely first to make sure the file is in there and that there isn't a problem with that specific patch overall.

I'd go with JRF's suggestion :

fyi I have that patched installed on a J6700, the patch went on fine and the grmd fileset was installed with no problems too ?

ps no known issues (yet) wrt this patch ... at least nothing I could find within HP's inner doors ;)

Thanks folks! I actually had to download and install a number of patches individually before the Dec 2001 Quality Patch would run to completion as swinstall kept complaining about "software item XXXX not found in tape depot". (I thought that everything required would have been bundled into the Quality Patch depot file but I guess that's not necessarily the case.)
Anyway, all works fine now...thanks again.
