problem with "arp" in HP-UX B.11.0

Hi,
I want install a product that need a server license.
The "daemon" needs IP address to start correctly and uses "/etc/arp `/bin/hostname`" to find it. But in my workstation (HP-UX 11.0), this comand return nothing !
/bin/hostname works correctly.

In another workstation,with the same OS, it returns a correct sentence!
I don't know why it doesn't work. Can you help me?
