Need a wee bit more.

Do you have the daemon macro set up?

If its set to an IP address that the machine does not own, you'll need to adjust the macro file and rebuild the sendmail databases.

Also might be a problem with some other daemon using port 25. Check /etc/services and ipfilter firewall.

Also check /var/adm/syslog/mail.log for further information. Please post some of it.

you will find information on sendmail setup.

start there and look for SendMail.

is your sendmail working ? if yes, check you limits out in: /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file.

if no, check out network files:
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
you must have a Gateway, etc..

in the Document, it talks about setup:
/etc/nsswitch.files to be copied to /etc/nsswitch.conf

/etc/hosts

/etc/resolv.conf

you can test your system out by:

telnet smtp
^]

not you should get back a 220 from this test.

Hi Oscar,

Check the permissions and ownership of the file /usr/sbin/sendmail. It should be owned by root:mail and should have permissions -r-sr-sr-t (7555)
