problems installing hpux on rx2600

Hi,

I am trying to install HPUX on an rx2600 server. When I get to the screen on my console that allows me to choose Install HP-UX, the hardware summary shows 0 disk. If I then try and rescan it still does not pick up the drives. The drives have been configured as raid 1 using the raid utilities. Has any ever experienced this?

How did you create the RAID 1 device (that's just mirroring - might as well just use the OS for that)?

Can you get into EFI?

can you tell us more information please.

what version of HPUX are you trying to install? 11iv1 or 11iv2

what is the raid card you are using?

how did you set the raid up? f8? and did you initialize the drives and set the raid card up as a boot controller?

Also are the drives internal to the system or external?

with this we maybe able to work out whats happening or not?

If you're system have Smart Array Card,
you can show how many logical disk you have when booting time.
If logical disk is 0, you have to install Array card firmware or driver. And type F8 when booting time, and set RAID level.

Hi,

You will have to follow the procedure for loading OS onto raid luns. The procedure is there in the manual for that particular raid controller.
