Problems loading golden image to a rx2660

Hello together

after a decade with PA-RISC maschines I have to go to Itanium maschines.

I created a golden image hpux11iv3.gz with a size of 2.6 GB.

After several work I was able to boot my other Itanium maschine over network from my Itanium ignite server (dbprofile)

After I selected the "Go" command, the partitions are created and several files extracted. Then the golden image download should start, but I got the following error messages om my Itanium client:
Processing the archive source (Golden Image HP-UX 11.31
Archives).
* Mon Sep 01 10:32:31 EDT 2008: Starting archive load of the source
(Itanium image: English HP-UX 11.31 CDE).
/usr/lib/hpux32/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libkrb5.so.1'.
* Completed 0 KBytes of archive

gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
pax_iux: The archive is empty.
/tmp/ign_configure/archive_script[2]: 264 Killed
ERROR: Cannot load OS archive (Itanium image: English HP-UX 11.31 CDE)

The configuration process has incurred an error, would you like
to push a shell for debugging purposes? (y/[n]):

On my itanium server the syslog has the following entries:
Aug 29 11:22:00 giads3int tftpd[5530]: send_file: recv: Can't assign requested a
ddress
Aug 29 11:22:05 giads3int tftpd[5529]: send_file: recv: Can't assign requested a
ddress
Aug 29 11:22:08 giads3int tftpd[5533]: send_file: recv: Can't assign requested a
ddress
Aug 29 11:22:19 giads3int tftpd[5534]: send_file: recv: Can't assign requested a
ddress

Any ideas??

Thanks

Bernd

Re: Problems loading golden image to a rx2660

Shalom,

Looks to me like a problem with network connectivity to the NFS server that provides the golden image file.

showmount -e hostname/ipaddress (of NFS Server)

Deal with the network connectivity issue and perhaps reconfigure your system to use the correct NFS server.

Re: Problems loading golden image to a rx2660

Hi Steven

thank you for your quick reply. I do not think that NFS is the problem.

NFS is disabled. In former times with the PA-RISC we never used NFS. Is there any differnce to Itanium?

Thx

This appears to be your problem. Some type of security.

Re: Problems loading golden image to a rx2660

Unless there are errors before what you posted it looks to me like your golden image is junk.

BTW, NFS is and has always been needed for Ignite to work.

Re: Problems loading golden image to a rx2660

The process aborts at the point where ignite is trying to access the archive.

Have a look at this document

http://docs.hp.com/en/6770/golden.images.pdf

Using Golden Images with Virtual Partitions

Just ignore the vPar related commands, it applies in general to every golden image.

BTW, how should this work without NFS?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
