problems printing with intel netpro print server.
Hi Gurus,
I am facing problems in printing in compressed on a line printer connected to intel netpro print server. The printer is connected to serial port on the print server. The same printer was printing fine when it was configured to print from DTC.
I have tried the following
$ lp -dtest1 -oc filename
tried configuring as remote printer.
Let me know if you have worked with some work around this problem.
Thanks in advance
Sreedhar

If this is a network printer (you print to an ip-address or hostname), try installing HP JetDirect software. Then configure the printer as a network printer.
Contrary to popular belief, Unix is userfriendly. It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.

Re: problems printing with intel netpro print server.
I have tried using Jetdirect.
Can you please let know what should be the contents of printcap file.
Thanks
Sreedhar

Re: problems printing with intel netpro print server.
I don't have a printcap file here. But if Intel uses an other portnr than HP for the printserver, you might try configuring that in the interface script (/etc/lp/interface/xxxx).
