Problems with X-Windows & hp-ux 11.00
There seems to be a problem in Motif 2.1 under hp-ux 11.00 when using X-Windows. With Ascii-terminals this problem does not occur. The server is of type HP9000.
The positioning of the Array-Fields does not work properly.
An example:
In HP-UX 10.20 and Motif 1.2:
Type Text
____________ ________________________________
____________ ________________________________
____________ ________________________________
____________ ________________________________
____________ ________________________________
...
In HP-UX 11.00 the screen looks like this:
Type Text
____________ _______________________________
____________ _______________________________
____________ _______________________________
____________ _______________________________
____________ _______________________________
...
There appears a gap between the titles and the actualdata-rows.
In hp-ux 10.20 this problem does not appear.
And in hp-ux 11.00 it appears only, when using X-Windows.
In an Ascii-terminal there is no 'gap'.
Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem ?
e.g. changing some unix- or X-resource ?
Yours,
Markku Muhonen

Re: Problems with X-Windows & hp-ux 11.00
we are using third part form generator (JYACC Jam-5.04) to create forms. I don't know, what calls Jam using.
At Prolifics they answer:
Since there are no
changes in the video and key file and the it runs fine with the ASCII
terminal, I am assuming that there are configuration differences between
HPUX11 xterm and HPUX10.20 xterm. I would suggest you contact HP support
and see if it's a known issue.
We run that patch what Dan suggests but the problem is still on.

Re: Problems with X-Windows & hp-ux 11.00
I think it more likely the problem is your forms generator is not coping with changes in Motif between 1.2 and 2.1, without knowing the calls that are being affected it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I suggest you log a call with your 3rd party vendor or submit a call with a snippet of demo code to your local HP Response centre.
