Problems !!!!!!!!!!!
i'm a cookie in hp-ux an d i need many information.
I must to do a new procedure for make a backup of my workstation.
I have 6 workstation hp-ux 10.20 based 4 are b180l and two are 715/50 apollo.
I have only one DLT8000 and one DDS DAT.
How i can backup my system configuration ??
Can i save the system configuration via nfs?
Help me please !!!

You can do backup crossing NFS boundaries using fbackup tool:
# fbackup -n -f remote_system:/dev/
but you have to remember to set hosts in .rhosts file.

Ignite-UX tool is the best for backing up HP-UX system configuration onto a bootable tape.
In case of a system crash, you can always recover your OS as well as its LVM configuration etc from the tape.
For more information, man make_recovery.

dump/rdump supports a remote tape device, and we use this for all our workstation backups. So, if your tape drive is on host1 and you want to backup host2, run something like this on host2:
dump 0ubdsf 126 82000 467968 host1:/dev/rmt/0m /filesystem
The parameters may be different for your set-up, but this seems to work OK for us.
