purchasing aCC
I am trying to get the lowest price for a new aCC (C++ compiler) license for HP 10/11 platforms. Forsythe (reseller) is offer it for $1525.00 USD. Is this a fair price or is there a better place to purchase this? Please help.

Re: purchasing aCC
That appears to be the standard pricing for aC++. See here: http://www.software.hp.com/cgi-bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProducts.pl?group_name=aC%2B%2B&group_image=cat_featured.gif&group_type=family
I seriously doubt that you'll find the types of deals on software that you can find with hardware.

Re: purchasing aCC
Well, you are paying list price for the product. Typically, established customers get discounts of at least 10% and 25% is not unheard of. But since you are having to ask, you are obviously not an established customer.
The other thing you need to consider is buying this product with support so that you can get upgrades at no cost.
Though I really don't suggest it, you could always download the Gnu compiler. I just don't suggest this if you are going to use this in a commercial application where you might also need support.
It certainly can't hurt to shop around for other HP resellers but you will quickly lose in time the dollars you will save.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
