How can put back a DLT tape online, after a mt offl command? Is the only solution to eject and put it back?

I'm not really sure about the meaning of the term offline. The tape is unuseable simply because there is no tape loaded so I guess that makes it "offline". The only way to make it useable is to load a tape and the only way to do that is to insert one. If you have an autochanger you can use the mc command - otherwise it's a manual process by nature.
