Re: pv command
I assume you mean the pv commands dealing with Physical Volumes
pvchange
pvck
pvcreate
pvdisplay
pvmove
pvremove
all have their own man pages.
Also see the online LVM manual
http://us-support3.external.hp.com/iv/data/documents/DE_SW_UX_swrec_EN_01_E/LVM.pdf

Re: pv command
If you are trying to find help on Perfview's pv command, then there are PDF files under /opt/perf/paperdocs directory.
See if they can help you.

Re: pv command
pv -batch -dest path_to_file -b begin_date -ymax 100 -graph
For ASCII files:
#extract -xp -G -b >START_DATE>
All of this is a part of MeasureWare. Within MeasureWare there are five files used to collect different heuristics:
logglob (* global metrics *)
logdev (* disk/device *)
logappl (* application *)
logtran (* transactions *)
logproc (* process log *)
Obtain a copy of the MeasureWare dictionary and note the 250 plus variables within these log files that can be turned on and used to collect data.
Don't forget to award points cuz its all about the points. Just use the drop down menu on each replay and select a number.

Re: pv command
Follow the link (below) to the whitepapers and do a keyword search for 'perfview'. Good luck.
