pvcreate:couldn't open physical volume

pvcreate:couldn't open physical volume

i am trying to create a PV, I ran the following cmd:
#pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0
i got the following error:
pvcreate: Couldn't open physical volume "/dev/rdsk/c3t0d0":I/O error

pls help me.. i need to set up service guard.
I stuck here only....

Hi,

Could you post the output of

# ioscan -fnCdisk

# diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0

Hi Chetan,

check ioscan output of the device and make sure that the devices is visible and accesible. also make sure that the drive is not used by another host on the cluster...

what is the output of
#diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0

chech whether size is matching the size of hard disk
