PWplus obsolescence?

Hello,
I've heard the PWplus package is already unsupported. What's now the standard and recommended solution as an alternative to the PWplus package for HP-UX/Solaris/Linux? All security/instalation guides I've found/read on the Intranet referred to http://sectools.hp.com.
