[Q] Is it possible to implement "wake on lan" on UNIX ?
All
Today, I did set the "wake on lan" on my XW8200 workstation using "magic packet" and it works.
After that, suddenly It struct me whether it is possible to implement "wake on lan" on UNIX or not.
I am using of HPUX 11.11 on C8000 workstation.
Is it possible ?
If yes, could you let me know how could I set "wake on lan" for C8000 workstation ?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: [Q] Is it possible to implement "wake on lan" on UNIX ?
Hi,
Not too sure, whether the workstation supports wake on lan. Though roughly this feature translates to "MP/GSP" prompt, an advanced interface of HPUX servers. for whats worth it, try pounding the following site for c8000....

Let your effort be such, the very words to define it, by a layman - would sound like a "POETRY" ;)

Re: [Q] Is it possible to implement "wake on lan" on UNIX ?
I seriously doubt you can do this for HP-UX. The whole purpose of HP-UX is to stay up.
On some newer models of HP-UX servers, you can tell the MP to turn on and off the power. I don't think that is the same as wake up on LAN. :-)
