Re: Q on swinstall - urgent
Hi Vasudev,
I have an answer for ur first question.
I think the path "/appl/srcdump/nas21inst/NAS_patches/"
on 'atlas' server is an NFS mounted filesystem.
root user on atlas will not have all the required permissions to access this
file. It can so happen that you give all the permissions 777 to this depot file
but the parent directory has only 700 permissions.
SO try copying this patch depot to a local directory such as /tmp and then give
"-s /tmp/patch_name.depot" to install it
If still it didnot work, please send me a copy of the log file, then I'll be
bale to help u out.
Regards
Sajith

Re: Q on swinstall - urgent
Hi Vasudev,
Answer to Q1)
This error came when I tried to install some patches also but it went thru
fine....
The patch.depot file was in /tmp and the permissions were 644.
Try the following steps.
Copy /appl/srcdump/nas21inst/NAS_patches/PHKL_16751.depot to /tmp
#/usr/sbin/swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true -s
/tmp/PHKL_16751.depot
The command given above is a single command.Give it continuously.
Hope this should work.
Regards
Sajith

Re: Q on swinstall - urgent
Hi Vasudev,
Answer for Q2)
You need not worry about these errors. It says 7 of 9 filesets in the patch are
not there in your system at present.
When you don't have the filesets why to patch it?? That's it.
Regards
Sajith
