Question about cluster lock

Hello,

I have vgexported a VG belonging a cluster; in that VG was the cluster lock. Now, this disk has been used for create another VG. If I re-create the original VG with the original cluster lock disk, and put the cluster mark with "vgchange -c y", and activate it with "vgchange -a e",,will this procedure work??

Re: Question about cluster lock

The cluster lock structure is not the same as the cluster identification bits stored in the LVM VGDA when you create a VG and use 'vgchange -c y ' to set the cluster ID and activation mode.

Inb order to initialize the cluster lock structure, contact the support center and request the 'cminitlock' command to re-initiate the lock structure. The command can be used while the cluster is running.

Re: Question about cluster lock

Or you can re-create your cluster by re-running a cmquerycl on your ascii file - it will pick the preferred disk for a cluster lock for you.

Then re-apply the cluster config with a cmapplyconf.

Re: Question about cluster lock

As Geoff had said,

You need to recreate your cluster config. In order to do so, you need to bring down the cluster, modify your cluster config file, then re-compile it.

We have had a few Service Guard TOC's after not having our cluster lock volume group not being set up properly. Really recommend you taking care of it as soon as possible.
