Question about mounting NFS

Hello,

I have some filesystems mounted by cluster and I need to mount them in a remote system.

Problem is when I move package to 1st node to 2nd one, NFS in remote system become to "Stale NFS file handle" status.

Is there any way to mount NFS in case remote server/package isn't available I'll be able to umount them or remote system recover automatically connection as soon as server/package is online again?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,

Carles

Re: Question about mounting NFS

It seems to be possible only with latest NFS version. What OS do you have? Another option would be highly available NFS package itself. NFS extension for MCSG.

Re: Question about mounting NFS

Hello Carles,

HP offers a product called Highly Available NFS that does exactly what you're describing. It allows you to configure NFS filesystems as a ServiceGuard package that you can run on a server and then migrate the package to other servers in the cluster without disrupting the NFS client's access to the filesystem.

Please check out:

and this:

for more information.

Dave
