Question about /stand/bootconf

Hi,
I found out that most HP docs about mirroring root disk do not mentioned to update /stand/bootconf file. Is there any fatal might occur if the mirrored root disk in not in /stand/bootconf.

Thanks for any info.

Re: Question about /stand/bootconf

Hi,

bootconf file is used by swinstall during the kernel update. It tells the control scripts where to look for updating the boot loader. No fatal might occur if the mirror disk not present, but it will be left untouched during the upgrade programs which is a substantial risk.

If your bootconf is wrong, you can manually update it. Look at bootconf man page for more details.
