Question about STM
I have a short question about the xstm command: I'm running the GUI and want to see the map of devices. But instead of an hierarchical overview, i just get a list of devices. Do i have to modify /usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc ?
The only line not commented is:
SelCurrentSys system add localhost system 1
Any suggestions ?

Re: Question about STM
I'm not exactly sure what you want to view, do you want to limit the view to disks for example:
ioscan -fnkC disk
?

Re: Question about STM
yes, i tried the options/map, but there is no change to the view. I want to see the devices shown as icons, NOT a list.
Niraj, first example starts xstm fine (but not with the icons), your 2nd suggestion starts xstm, but i get an error message: Hostname (localhost) could not be added to the host information list. The fully expanded hostname (

Re: Question about STM
This may be silly to ask, but do you have a
/usr/sbin/stm/ui/icons directory? are there any files there and are they readable?
Just my thought
Hope this helps

Re: Question about STM
If that doesn't work, restart diagnostics and remap your system.
What version are you? A.28.00
options/Map..
first check box should do what you want..

Re: Question about STM
Select Options --> Map Options
from the Map Options window,
Deselect the "Display xtm device map in text format" radio button.
Click "OK"

Re: Question about STM
the version is A.28.00
What exactly do you mean
Then i restarted /sbin/init.d/diagnostics stop,start. Even a system remap didn't fit ...
Yates, i tried your suggestion earlier, but also no success. Strange ...
I now will check out a machine from another team. If anybody has further suggestions - Let me know. I will let you know if i have a solution.

Re: Question about STM
I checked out the machine from the other team. Chan, you maybe right because we have attached our servers to a SAN. So there are definitely more than 50 devices.
Had a look at the diagnostics home, but didn't find a limitation. Will have a more detailed look in the next few weeks.
Thanx guys !
