Question make_tape_recovery
I have a cluster and one node is a rx2600... I want to change one node from cluster to a rx46xx. Is it possible take a backup with make_tape_recovery and restore it on a new server without problems? or is necessary to reinstall the operative system?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Question make_tape_recovery
As long as the hardware is similar, make_tape_recovery is an ideal solution.

Re: Question make_tape_recovery
Usually it works without problems, unless there are huge differences in the system hardware.
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: Question make_tape_recovery
You should be able to do it.
There have been various reports received on this forum on whether rx class boxes can actually be booted off the tape drive.
I'd check into that and go with the latest, stable version of Ignite.
You can also use Ignite Golden images. They require a network connection for booting based on the build in NIC card.
