Question on SNAplus2 R7

Can anyone tell me if the SNAplus2 R7, product number J6380AA, can be use over the Gigabit lan interface? I was told that the SNAPlus2 sw need a dual port PSI card (J3525A with the applicable option) must be ordered. Also, it must order one interface cable option (2 cables per option):
#1AT: 2 RS-232C cables (3m)
#1AU: 2 V.35 cables (3m)
#AFR: 2 X.21/V11 cables (3m)
#AFQ: 2 RS-449 cables (3m)
#001: 2 RS-530 cables (3m)

Yet I do not see an option for Gigabit lan.

thx in advance.

Re: Question on SNAplus2 R7

Hi,

The J3525A PSI card is also used for X.25 access (SW product J2793B). X.25 applications can now run over LLC2 (what is called XOL, X.25 over LLC2), using LAN cards, instead of using the PSI card J3525A.
I do not think that we provide LLC2 access for SNA applications though.

Re: Question on SNAplus2 R7

Sorry, let me take this back. I was thinking SNAplus2 over SDLC or QLLC.

SNAplus2 does run over Ethernet, using DLPI for LLC2.
See the release note:
http://docs.hp.com/en/J6380-90004/J6380-90004.pdf
(even if a little outdated).

Running SNAplus2 Link using Token Ring (A5783A), 802.3/Ethernet, or FDDI(A3739B)
requires hardware and software for each link type. All LAN cards are supported (if supported on the given server with the given HP-UX version).

Re: Question on SNAplus2 R7

Hi Marie,

So are you saying if I purchase the SNAPlus2 link software and have a lan interface available, the SNAPlus2 sw will work and I don't need anyother cards or hardware? Thx

Re: Question on SNAplus2 R7

Yes that's what I say, using LLC2 as interface for SNAplus2.
