"FATAL select: 9 - Bad file number" on AAA Server

Dear All,
I have installed Radius AAA Server on one of my hp-ux server. As soon as
clients trying to authenticate with ldap (ldap authentication) the system
is throwing below error message(Even testing the user name and password with "radpwtst -s Servername/ip -w password login" is throwing below message constantly and /var Filesystem is going to full untill and unless killing the radiusd).
FATAL select: 9 - Bad file number

Whereas the same is running on other server(HP-UX B.11.00 U
9000/800 1171991567 unlimited-user license) with same version of AAA.

I have checked the permissions, all configuration files on bith the systems and now for test purpose I have set permission for all files, directories as 777.

After installing the AAA, I have copied all configuration files from old server.

OS on Old Server:HP-UX B.11.00 U
9000/800 1171991567 unlimited-user license

OS on New Server: HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800 1547732826 unlimited-user license

Re: "FATAL select: 9 - Bad file number" on AAA Server

Hi Tapas,

This seem to be an identified issue with version 5.1 the fix for the same is by upgrading to v6.0.7..

workaround
1) rename /var/opt/aaa/logs/logfile and make sure there is still disk
space
2) restart AAA server(radiusd)

Re: "FATAL select: 9 - Bad file number" on AAA Server

Prashanth,

Do you mean by upgrading to A.06.. i will able to solve my problem?
I have renamed /var/opt/aaa/logs/ and then create /var/opt/aaa/logs/ directory and give necessary permissions and restart the radiusd. As soon as i use the radpwtst command i got

Hello Tapas,

Incase you are still getting the same error..

The error may occur if the connection to LDAP server has not been established and an authentication is being attempted.

You may want to verify if the LDAP realm is configured with right parameter. and also verify any error message got during startup of radiusd/AAA Server.
