"ld: Duplicate symbol" problem
I used "make_tape_recovery" to produce the backup tape for OS 11.00.
Then I used this tape to recover OS on another server,I encountered such errors<
ld: Duplicate symbol "vx_memiolock" in files /usr/conf/lib/libvxfs_base.a[vx_hpu
xsubr.o] and /usr/conf/lib/libvxfs.a[vx_machdep.o]
ld: Duplicate symbol "vx_event_deinit" in files /usr/conf/lib/libvxfs_base.a[vx_
hpuxsubr.o] and /usr/conf/lib/libvxfs.a[vx_machdep.o]
How can I solved this porblem?
Thanks a lot!
Louis

Re: "ld: Duplicate symbol" problem
Shalom Louis,
For a real answer.
State the model of both systems and provide hardware details.
I would suggest intervening when Ignite prompts you during the restore and making some adjustments to filesystem sizes and defaults.
Without more information I'm just guessing but there appears not to be enough room on the target system for the contents of the /usr filesystem.
The target system may be incompatible with the source system.
